Spedish

This past week we purchased an expedition to replace the late beast. Color: teal. Name: see blog title. It's a 97' and sounds vaguely like a boat when you fire it up, but overall it's a good thing as my friend Martha Stewart would say. Liz and I had some fun times trying to figure out the cd player, which is in fact an add-on located in the center console as the car in its manufactured state only offers a tape player. My feelings about this car are mostly positive, and let's be honest its the kind of car my family would own...large.

Although everyone knows why this car was needed I feel like I need to put it in writing for the sake of preservation. It was the 18th of July, 2009. Midnight. In the hushed darkness one among my kin, namely Zoe, was driving home from Taylor Soper's in the excursion. Passengers included young Sierra as well as neighbor and longtime friend Marie Lambert. 32nd street and the 51 approached...last light before entering the neighborhood of my childhood and life. Closer...closer...stronger harder faster! Nearer to thee this light was approaching. A light that had been passed through safely perhaps at least 50+ times when all of a sudden, suddenly with no warning  and much sudden....BAM!...the beast like unto a brilliant white unicorn, a rare and magnificent creature sacrificed its life for that of its master as it was struck by opposing forces. The other car had run a red light exiting the freeway and the two women inside suffered some serious injuries. We wanted to visit them in the hospital but the police wouldn't disclose any names for their protection. With nothing more than some scrapes, bruises and emotional trauma, my sisters and Marie were fine. Though there is a small hole in the hearts of theo's everywhere at the loss of our faithful scurge, we take comfort in knowing his life was long and full. He had seen many places and many bottoms and that was enough.

you knew. what i was. when you picked me up. -the devil
