Last week i had the great opportunity to return to my homeland of Phoenix, Arizona. My mom and Zoe had driven up to bring my my new car, which by the way is fabulous, and I ended up just driving home with them. On Tuesday my dad was running out the door to go see a movie with Dave Nielson and I asked what he was seeing....(background information--my mom gets so annoyed with my dad's movie habits because not only does he see a movie every wednesday night with the boys, but he will often go on other nights of the week as well which is what was happening on this particular Tuesday night)...."Lovely Bones," he says. So I asked if I could come along and as soon as we get in Dave's truck my dad goes..."So are we seein Lovely Bones or Legion?" And they both just busted out laughing. Legion is now up there on my list of weirdest/most shocking movie experiences I have ever had. Its right up there next to Drag Me to Hell, which I of course saw with my dad and memz under similar circumstances, aka having absolutely no idea what I was getting myself into. I literally had never even heard about this movie until I was trapped in a car, deceived, on my way to see it. So you can imagine my surprise when a little old shark-toothed grandma starts ripping out people's jugulars and climbing up the ceiling. Out of control.

AZ
The next night was of course Wednesday movie night with the boys. I again came along for the ride. When I say the boys I am talking about Dave Nielson, Ernie Baird, and TimTom...meaning Tim and Tom Kauffman, who are brothers. So it was five big dudes and a girl in a minivan, off to see the Lovely Bones...for real this time. Throughout the previews there were many classic bromance lines dropped like oh Tom will you sit next to me in that one? It was great. The movie ended up being less than I expected, but listening to the boys deeply analyze the film and its flaws on the way home made it all so so worth it. It was similar to and equally as enjoyable as listening to Liz analyze a dish.
The next two nights we watched 500 Days of Summer and Brandy's Cinderella. Good times. We went out to lunch at Carolinas and each got our usual orders. Machaca beef burrito with sour cream and guac and a horchata for me, bean and potato burrito double wrapped made long with lots of hot salsa for my dad with a diet coke.
